This year REAP has onboarded 50 new first years students – 15 at 3 different TVET colleges (Motheo, NCUT & NCRT) and 35 at various universities (UJ, Wits, UWC, CPUT, UP, NMU, VUT, UFS, CUT, UL & SPU). All first year students recently attended orientation events held in Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Johannesburg).  At those events they are introduced to their REAP Student Development Advisors and their peer buddies, are given their laptops, receive advice and guidance on adapting to tertiary life, and gain clarity on what is expected of them as REAP students. The events are facilitated by REAP staff with assistance from peer buddies (senior REAP students who assist first years to assimilate into their new environments).
